THE MOHAWK
Work Categories: Fabrication and Installations
Another collaboration with Robert Gay of Thoughtbarn, this project’s limited budget encouraged resourcefulness, recycling, and paying the crew in beer.
The venue needed a quick and inexpensive identity to mark new ownership. We transformed the existing front fence into a woven abstract banner. The varying shades of green in the 60-linear-foot fence are made from pallet strapping sourced entirely from the dumpster of one Austin lumber distributor.
Over the years, Robert and Jack have continued to make installations at the Mohawk, including both stages, the wood wrap, the indoor “flying eagle lighting truss,” the solar-powered marquees, various lighting installations and the birds hanging from the ceiling.
