DEADMAN’S HOLE

Family camp with access to a natural wonder. These 5 beautiful acres with panoramic Hill Country views demanded structures that were light-on-the-ground and made of a vernacular palette of robust materials. Stands of native trees near the edges of the property provide natural shade and help ground the scheme in a practical approach to space-making while leaving a central zone for wildflowers and meandering paths. An iconic pavilion at the bluff would honor the view and the landscape while providing facilities for extended family get-togethers.
