A little late… but here are some photos of the Jack’s UT students “geodesic” projects in Marfa during El Cosmico. The first half of the semester they dove into Bucky Fuller’s “Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth”, and “Education Automation” – culminating in a drive to Marfa for the Trans-Pecos Festival of Music and Love where they erected their “geodesic” structures from recycled and reclaimed materials (try wine works, paper, cardboard, and yes, venetian blinds from the Habitat ReStore.) The second half of the semester has been focused on designing a pavilion of the Oak Cliff Nature Preserve (with Texas Land Conservancy). They present those designs tomorrow night at the 30th Anniversary Gala. Stay tuned for a whole semester re-cap in December!
