Design Build Adventure

Been a hell of a month.  We have a number of exciting things going on at Design Build Adventure.  Starting with the Fun Fun Fun Festival “Chill Zones”, the East Side Studio Tour where Jack unveiled the “tortilla moon” series as a part of his celestial “black hole”, and “blue star” works, the steel columns and saddles at the Thoughtbarn designed Santa Anna residence of “productivity and delight”, the  Cedar fence, Cedar Gate, Cedar Retaining Wall, and as usual a number of Studio A designed steel furniture pieces (under construction).  … Keep Reading→

A little late… but here are some photos of the Jack’s UT students “geodesic” projects in Marfa during El Cosmico.  The first half of the semester they dove into Bucky Fuller’s “Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth”, and “Education Automation” – culminating in a drive to Marfa for the Trans-Pecos Festival of Music and Love where they erected their “geodesic” structures from recycled and reclaimed materials (try wine works, paper, cardboard, and yes, venetian blinds from the Habitat ReStore.)  The second half of the semester has been focused on designing a … Keep Reading→
