Design Build Adventure

Annual camp 2011 –

This recurring 4-day workshop, hosted at El Cosmico, focuses on locality and community in design — not just the materials and construction techniques, but how climate, geography, socioeconomics and even the food, music and art of a place can and should influence design. Throughout the week, adventurers will design, source materials locally and build it all within the context of creating moments of community and fun.

A community service project is always central to this camp. Past projects have included Blackwell School Park and East Side Play!, two important community-gathering spaces that were in need of site improvements and maintenance.
