DOONANNY

Installations

LOCATION: Seale, AL

For more than 10 years, this rural art and music festival took over Butch Anthony’s family farm for one weekend every year. It was a time for getting together, getting down, and getting creative. The folks at Doonanny were a collaborative community that, more and more, left its mark on the farm: A communal outdoor kitchen, hand-pumped hot-water showers, and a series of art shacks. DBA helped create the stages and several festival buildings, including a bicycle dome and the annual Doonanny Burn structure. It got too big, and too awesome – which naturally made the insurance too expensive.
