YOGA AND WELDING
This workshop pairs two hours of meditation and yoga with three hours of learning and practicing basic metalworking techniques. It may sound like a crazy combination, but trust us when we say that a morning of centering movement and breath is a great way to prepare the mind and body for an afternoon of “playing with fire” in the shop.
Led by Marnie Castor, this yoga class is appropriate for all levels. The afternoon shop session will begin with a healthy lunch and lecture led by Jack Sanders, followed by three hours of learning and practicing basic metal cutting, welding and grinding. A campfire happy hour with cold beer, savory snacks and a little guitar picking will cap off the day.

Recommended shop attire: long-sleeved shirts, long pants and closed-toe shoes. Bring work gloves and safety goggles if ya got ‘em.
About Marnie: In 2005, she completed her first 200 hour Teacher Training with Jenny Aurthur at YogaWorks in New York City. While managing the YogaWorks Main Street Studio in Santa Monica, California she had the privilege of practicing with the finest senior teachers in the country. In 2009, she completed another 200 Teacher Training with James Brown at Yoga Poser and in 2010, she apprenticed with Chad Hamrin in the YogaWorks 300 hour Teacher Training. After having sustained a back injury, Marnie found her way into a Therapeutic yoga class and later apprenticed with Jasmine Lieb. In 2011, she completed the Level One Certification in Urban Zen. Her teaching style is an alignment-based practice with a focus on intelligent sequencing and yoga philosophy. She currently teaches to the inmate population at Travis County Correctional Facility.
